Frequently Asked Questions

Can you let me know if you have a cancellation? Can you squeeze me in?

Unfortunately, I cannot send personal updates when I have a cancellation or gap in my schedule. But you can text JOIN to 844-784-4563 to opt into last-minute appointment availability updates via SMS.

How do I book an appointment?

You can book an appointment online using Square Appointments 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

What are your preferred forms of payment?

I accept payment via most major credit/debit cards using Square. I do not accept cash or Venmo.

Do you accept walk-ins?

I do not. Great nails take time and the length of my appointments do not work well with offering walk-ins.

Do you have gift cards available?

Yes! You can Purchase A Gift Card Online through Square.

What is your cancellation policy?

By booking an appointment with us you are agreeing to our policies, including the cancellation policy + fee structure outlined below:

If you cancel or reschedule your appointment with less than 24 hours notice, we charge a cancellation fee equal to 100% of the services booked.

If you cancel or reschedule your appointment with less than 48 hours notice, we charge a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the services booked.

You will not be allowed to schedule another appointment until this cancellation fee is paid. Our fee is waived for cancellations due to illness, but we ask that you give us as much notice as possible when cancelling.

Please note that if you cancel due to illness you must wait 10 days before returning for an appointment or provide a negative COVID test result.

What if I'm late for my appointment?

We allow a 10 minute grace period for your appointment—please send a text if you are running late! If you arrive later than 10 minutes after your scheduled appointment time your appointment may be subject to cancellation or rescheduling.

What is parking like?

There is free public on-street parking out front on Bishop St and on State St. Please adhere to posted signs regarding zone 3 parking restrictions (further down Bishop St!) Please do not park in the lot next to the building as that is for residents upstairs, not our customers.

How long should my appointment take?

Max estimated appointment times are listed when you schedule an appointment. Appointments rarely run longer than this estimate.

Do you do acrylic nail enhancements?

I do not. I achieve the look of acrylic nail extensions without all the dust and smell by using Apres Nails Gel-X gel nail extensions. Refinery29 has A Great Article that answers just about any questions you may have about the Gel X system!

Do you do dip powder, SNS, or powder gel?

I do not. I achieve the same (or better!) longevity and structure using my japanese gel manicuring process.

What are gel extensions?

Apres Gel-X or Kokoist Gelip gel extensions are pre-formed gel tips that cover your entire nail bed and adhere using gel. Because they don't just sit at the tip of your nails (like acrylic or hard gel extensions) they tend to have a stronger nail structure and are less prone to breaking. Both systems come with various sizes and shapes of tips that allow you to customize your mani to your liking.

Do you do pedicures?

We have a passion for nail art and don't currently offer pedicures—if there is enough interest perhaps we will in the future!

What if I only want a single-color manicure? How would that be priced?

Because we aim to do nail art at every appointment, we do not offer a lower price for single color manicures. A single-color manicure would be booked as a gel manicure + basic nail art.

How long will my manicure last?

How long your manicure lasts depends on how rough you are on your hands. Nails are jewels—not tools! We suggest our clients book their next appointment in 2-3 weeks for best results.

What do I do if my nail chips or breaks?

Nails chipping or breaking shortly after your appointment are rare and become increasingly possible the longer you go between appointments. If your nail chips, breaks, smudges, or needs repair within 24 hours of your appointment—email me to book a complimentary nail fix. If your nail chips or is lifting inbetween appointments and you'd like to know if you should move your next appointment to a sooner date, text me a photo and I'll let you know what I suggest!
